Welcome to The Key Finders Bible Study
My hope is that you discover the love of reading the Bible as I have, unfolding your own personal mysteries that have been imprinted in you since the beginning of time, as you journey through the collection of God’s love letters to us, His sons and daughters. I hope that it will quicken your spirit that was personally and affectionately breathed into us from God, capturing a miniscule piece of all that He is, in us. Once empty vessels fashioned out of the earth with care and precision with His mighty hands, these bodies carry the beginning, eternal seed that we have been gifted and charged within our lifetime to hold, nurture and grow, then reveal back through the fruit of it to the universe through sharing with each other. In doing so, our goal is to uncover whatever personal revelation that is needed to develop the wonderfully unique purpose implanted within us all.
My main inspiration behind starting to study deeply while in pursuit of an intimate relationship with God, came upon reading what Jesus said about the Word when he answered in Matthew 4:4, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of God’”. I understood it to mean that not only is food needed to sustain this body, but my life also depends heavily on the word of God. Does that really mean, “EVERY word” though? There are so many names, and “begat this” and “begat that” that I am so used to skipping over in search of what I DECIDE are key words that are important to what I DECIDE I need at the moment…so, EVERY word? I found that when probing into that question, the Bible contains definitive words such as “all”, “is”, and “forever” all wrapped into describing the Word. I had to decide to either take the Bible as being the full truth or not. Full truth is inclusive of “every word”. The Bible reads about the word in Deuteronomy 4:1-2 KJV
“…for to do them, that ye may live, and go in and possess the land which the Lord God of your fathers giveth you. 2 Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you.”
There is no in between. No shades of grey in this scripture. All truth means every word taken literally. Since the Bible is the written collection of God’s words and influences, whether directly or indirectly, I decided that it is where I would find what is needed to enrich the life that I live and develop into the full potential of God’s intention, thus answering the age old question, “Why am I?” I decided it was time to read the creator’s manual on me. Who knows better about what I was made for than the Maker. I encourage adopting the mindset of absorbing every word of the Bible as truth and fully receiving and believing in EVERY WORD as important and valid. This brings us to truth and belief, which is a whole other layer in itself. Believing and trusting doesn’t come easy. In fact, through experience I’ve found that being a relational dependent being, our reception of peace, growth, direction and success is all the way tied to how much and what we decide to trust. Its all about faith and belief. You will manifest what you believe. Settling our mind on Romans 12:3KJV “…according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith” , and Romans 2:11 “For there is no respect of persons with God”, I should have the same access to faith benefits as any top notch persons. It says “THE” measure. No scale. No multiples. THE measure. One set, singular measure in us all that just needs the time, effort, and desire to develop. There’s a process in believing in something. It needs to be examined, worked, put to practice, exercised and have a history of consistent and regular results. To add, this is GOD’S truth… listen, I expect 100% exact, by GOD’S word results EVERYTIME. Being GOD’S word, I expect GOD results. Not ordinary, but extraordinary because we have an extraordinary God. Expectation is connected to belief. For example, if I just bought a chair, knowing what it’s supposed to do because I have experience with chairs, I might sit down in it gently to see if it feels sturdy and will hold my weight and balance under me effectively at first, but the more I sit in that chair, being a test every time I sit down in it… even checking out different positions to see if it still produces the same results, I’ll trust that it will do what it has a history of doing. Over time of consistent use revealing consistent results, being a plopper, I’ll be plopping pretty hard with all of my weight in that chair and in full relax mode. That’s trust and peace. Now we’re talking about GOD stuff with this Bible business, so I will expect BIG THINGS from a BIG GOD to develop great faith. God himself says to “…prove me…” in several instances in the Bible. To prove every word, we must consume and study every word including finding the possible Hebrew/Greek definition and meaning of words and names, as I figured that’s who God was speaking through originally. In doing this, I uncovered amazing mysteries. Stories have hidden stories and meanings. Names especially have connection and revelation. I have been receiving so much that I decided to start over and begin sharing, in hopes that it will enrich many and in turn hoping many will share back. As we share in the mutual, respectful exchange of revelation and information, I expect growth to occur.
The Word throughout carries high regard and expectations as in Hebrews 4:12 KJV stating, “For the word of God is quick(or living), and powerful(or active), and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” Being described as “living”, the Word therefore has “living” characteristics which means it should build you, move you, energize, grow, react and conform to the changes in environment, and it should multiply. Being an “active” word, it is constantly working with you, and for you, to prove and reprove you. With precision it divides and separates between the carnal will and the spirit that is of God. It is so sharp it can separate that which has joined and bound you, to pierce your innermost parts. It reaches deep into the secret places and detects and distinguishes the hidden things and determines the true purpose of the heart. 2 Timothy 3:15-17 ESV reads, “And how from childhood you have been acquainted with the sacred writings, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be competent, equipped for every good work.” Envelop the Word. Let it do the moving. Let it do the work. It will teach and train you in your path. IT PROVIDES the equipment you need for “EVERY good work”.
Do have expectation! Expectation breeds faith. The Word is made to prosper you and produce. Isaiah 55: 10 “For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater:11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.” We are that “thing”. Receive it. Own it. God’s word replenishes. If you plant that seed of the word, that is always good, you will grow the fruit of that seed word and produce fruit full of more seed to plant. God’s word is a sure key for prosperity! It will not fail if you just receive.
It’s a journey. We will purposefully study the word by meditating (thinking deeply upon) and breaking it down to get every bit of its fullness, meaning and purpose before consuming it as we would puree food for babies to eat.
1 Corinthians 3KJV1 And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ.
2 I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able.
3 For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men?
At first, that is how we are able to take it and grow with it rather than choking on it, and staying in the lack of understanding by not being able to receive it, thus not getting any benefit from it. We can only grow if we can receive. To receive it, we need to have it all broken down finely, like a Bible smoothie, to absorb more easily and nourish to the max. Studying in detail allows us to be sure to receive EVERY UNALTERED WORD.
HEARING IS IMPORTANT! John1:42 “…And when Jesus beheld him, he said, Thou art Simon, which means hearing or to listen, the son of Jona, which means God is gracious: thou shalt be called Cephas, which is by interpretation, A stone.”
Jesus makes reference to the importance of “hearing” and connecting it to the right thing as soon as hearing comes to first meet him. When “hearing”, by the gracious gift of God, links to “the Word”, which happened when he connected with Jesus, he becomes “a stone”. We are to actively hear and connect to the word. What we allow our ears to hear becomes our foundation. Be selective of what you hear. Choose to connect to the word for that stable foundation. Matthew 7:24-25KJV”24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.” Setting your mind upon hearing the word brings revelation as when Jacob received his vision from God when he laid his head upon a stone to rest. Unhewn stones (unaltered word) were used to build an acceptable form of alter as remembrance and worship and what Solomon used to build the first temple. Set your ear to hear the unaltered word of God and use it as a foundation for your life to build a strong and solid base that will withstand anything that comes against it. Meditate upon it to receive revelation on direction. Speak it in your prayers, worship and testimony to honor God and stay blessed.
I believe receiving, accepting and studying all forms of the Word is important to understanding it. John 1:14 KJV “And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.” This verse makes reference to Jesus being the “flesh” form of the word. There are many other parallels and references in the Bible of Jesus also being the Word such as in 1 Peter 1:23 KJV when stating, “Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.” And John1:1-5 “1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not anything made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.”
Hebrews 13:8KJV ‘Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and forever.’ All these verses are interchangeable with the Word.
Understand also that God does not change. If there was a sufficient sacrifice needed to redeem us from our sins before Jesus went to the cross, the need to accept Jesus as the living sacrifice, once and for all, for us to have favor with God, is needed the same now. John 3:16 ESV “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” God’s gift, the one, precious Word fully of God, from God. God’s seed, out of which everything came, was sacrificed for our salvation. If Jesus is the flesh form of the word and the word was “with God” from the beginning, we should find Jesus there at the beginning and throughout in some form. As we journey through the word, you will see the parallels. Jesus was working with God as Word from the start, so it is important for the understanding and application of the Bible to start with the accepting and taking on of Jesus from the beginning as well.
John 8:31-32 ESV So Jesus said to the Jews who had believed in him, “If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” The hidden secrets of all that God is was given up to us through the Word. The veil has been torn to no longer be a barrier to blind us. There is no more covering. Romans 15:4 ESV” For whatever was written in former days was written for our instruction, that through endurance and through the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.” The everlasting, always valid, regenerating word of God is meant to free us. So study, receive, believe, do and BE FREE.
Join me for the next entry of The Key Finders Bible Study as we start our study in Genesis 1(The Beginning). The beginning of EVERYTHING… but God, who was there before the beginning. Genesis, our beginning, where our father, gives us insight on how He creates, modeling how to draw something out of seemingly nothing. Time to reflect His image, children. It’s what we were made for.
